I recently had the amazing opportunity to interview Kiran Krishnan, Microbiologist. Kiran is an exceptional resource for understanding your digestive woes and his company’s products are my all-time favorites.
In this interview, Kiran dishes out specific protocols you can use to address a variety of conditions.
This interview is for you if you struggle with:
SIBO (Small Intestinal Bacterial Overgrowth)
Bloating and gas
Or other digestive issues
Watch the video above to get an insider’s view on how to use these protocols for specific digestive issues.
Basic Outline of the Protocol
A general outline of the basic gut protocol is:
A. Treat the gut dysbiosis first:
Basic protocol 2-4 MegaSporeBiotic a day (titrate up slowly!).
If you suspect or know you’ll have die off, titrate up to 4 /day of Mega IgG 2000. I love this product and would really suggest adding it along with the Megasporebiotic.
If you are treating some overgrown unfriendly bacteria, he recommends: 2 capsules each of MegaSporeBiotic, HU58 and RestorFlora spread out in 3 doses a day- 2 of one in AM, 2 of another at lunch, 2 of another in PM. (These are now all in our shop.)
If you have Candida overgrowth, you can add MegaMycoBalance here, working up to 5 twice a day. (This is back in stock at our shop.)
B. If you are doing well for 5-6 weeks on the Megasporebiotic or above protocol, add the MegaPreBiotic at ½ -1 scoop/day in water over the course of the day. (You can discontinue the HU58 and RestoreFlora after 4-6 weeks. You can optionally discontinue the Mega IGG 2000, or you can keep taking it if it’s been helpful for you.)
C. If you are still doing well on step 2 for 3-4 weeks, add in the MegaMucosa, 1 scoop in water/day
After doing step 3 for one month, you are usually done, but you can stay on 2 MegaSporeBiotic per day if you like, or just use certain products as needed if your tummy is feeling off.
Ideas for Children
Since dosage is based on size, you will generally need to decrease the dosage for children. (For example, if you child is the size of an adult, a full dose will likely be fine, but if your child is half the size of an adult, you will want to work up to half doses.) Some times all it takes is 1/4 or 1/2 of the dose, so you may need to open up the capsules to split up the dose. You can easily mix the powder into smoothies or applesauce.
