Have You Been Taking Your Supplements Correctly?

Sometimes you can just look at a supplement’s name and you instantly know how it’s used. A perfect example of this is GI Detox. As the name implies it’s designed to detoxify the gut. Other times you see a supplement name, and without a little bit of digging, you may be confused about its use. In this instance, Mega IgG 2000 is a good example. This article is intended to explain how to use GI Detox and Mega IgG 2000 properly.

GI Detox: Binder for Heavy Metals and Inorganic Objects

We’ve already said that GI Detox is used to help detoxify the gut. But, what does that really mean?

Detoxifying the gut involves removing as much harmful inorganic material as possible, along with mold. The inorganic material we are most interested in here refers to heavy metals. Some common heavy metals include mercury, cadmium, arsenic, chromium, and lead. (1

GI Detox contains a blend of 6 ingredients designed to work synergistically to bind up heavy metals and mycotoxins in the GI tract. If you're curious to learn more about the best binders, check out this blog post.

Binding Ingredients

  • Zeolite clay (2)

  • Activated charcoal (3)

  • Silica (4)

  • Humic/fulvic acid (5)

Gut-Soothing Ingredients

  • Apple pectin

  • Aloe vera

GI Detox is a natural toxin binder that you can think of as more of a mop. I will often use this product alongside sauna treatments to help detox, as well as coffee enemas.

The binding ingredients found in GI detox are incredibly porous and carry a small charge. This means things like activated charcoal binders can literally attract heavy metals like a magnet. Once the metals and binding agent come into contact, the metal will get trapped inside the pores.

Toxin binders for humans have been used for centuries. Various cultures throughout the world have been consuming clay, dirt, or other natural substances to remove toxins. In fact, ancient Andeans used clay to make poisonous potatoes edible. (6)

While apple pectin and aloe vera will both bind up some heavy metals (especially lead), their main function in the GI Detox is to promote healthy bowel movements. (7) It does us little to no good to bind up the bad contents of our gut and leave them there to cause constipation.

Apple pectin and aloe help to stimulate gut motility. This translates into removing heavy metals and toxins in your gut through your poop.

Mega IgG 2000: Binder for Biotoxins

If GI Detox is a mop, then Mega IgG 2000 is a SEAL team that can eliminate specific, dangerous targets.

Whereas the GI Detox is primarily designed to bind heavy metals and other inorganic toxins, Mega IgG 2000 is a bovine immunoglobulin supplement that seeks out pathogens and is more of a biotoxin binder. If you’re not familiar with how immunoglobulins work, you can read more in our immunoglobulin blog post.

Generally speaking, Mega IgG 2000 works by “tagging” potentially dangerous viruses, bacteria, fungus, and proteins. The immunoglobulins can reduce gut inflammation and can address any gut infection because they prevent these harmful invaders from getting into the bloodstream.

Just like GI Detox binds up metals, Mega IgG 2000 can bind up pathogens! (8)

Mega IgG 2000 can bind to:

  • H. pylori

  • C. dif

  • E. coli

  • Salmonella

  • Lipopolysaccharides (LPS)

  • And more!

I like to use Mega IgG 2000 when the GI-MAP test shows leaky gut or harmful bacteria or viruses are lurking in the gut. Because Mega IgG 2000 can help an irritated gut lining by reducing gut inflammation and removing pathogens, it is a top leaky gut supplement in my gut repair protocol.

GI Detox vs Mega IgG 2000: When to Use

GI Detox binds to things like heavy metals, chemicals, and mold that can be in your gut. The formulation includes things like clay and activated charcoal that are very porous and carry a small magnetic charge. This allows for toxins to get trapped. Aloe and apple pectin help to promote healthy bowel movements which eliminate the bound toxins.

Use GI Detox for:

  • Heavy metal toxicity

  • Mold toxicity

  • Fungal overgrowth

  • Chemical exposure

  • Bloating & gas (binds the gas)

  • Food poisoning

  • Alcohol poisoning

  • Overeating

Pair GI Detox with a sauna or enema for added benefits.

Mega IgG 2000 will bind up harmful pathogens and proteins. This prevents them from getting absorbed into the bloodstream where they can cause even more damage. Mega IgG 2000 contains serum bovine immunoglobulins that can target specific proteins and pathogens that damage the gut.

Use Mega IgG 2000 for:

  • Gut repair

  • IBS/IBD

  • Gut infections

  • Leaky gut

  • Immune response for any pathogen

Possible side effects: Do you often react to supplements? Are you afraid to even try new ones for fear of not being able to take it and wasting more money?

I’ve found that there are really just a few common reactions, and they can usually be managed with correct dosing. Download my new Guide to Supplement Side Effects eBook here!

Please note that both GI Detox and Mega IgG 2000 can be constipating for some people, so make sure you follow the guidelines in my free ebook above on how to handle this. I have also seen each cause increased symptoms, although it’s rare. This doesn’t mean they are bad for you! It’s just that we are all different and stirring the pot can cause reactions. It often means you need to decrease the dosage or change the timing. Occasionally it means you should shelve it until you are stronger.

GI Detox usage notes: This should always be taken at least 1 hour away from food and medication (2 hours away is better). A typical dosage is 2 capsules first thing in the morning and/or last thing at night, or between meals in the daytime, if you have several hours when you go without eating.

Mega IgG 2000 usage notes: This is recommended at four capsules a day. I think it’s less constipating when taken at breakfast. I also think it’s ok to decrease to two capsules as needed.
