Seasonal Allergies? You May Need a Parasite Cleanse.

Each spring, many people brace for the familiar wave of sneezing, itching, congestion, and fatigue. While pollen is often blamed, it’s not always the full picture.

For some individuals—especially those with chronic or complex health issues—an underlying parasitic burden may be contributing to heightened allergic responses.

This doesn’t mean parasites are the root cause of all allergies. But in the right terrain, they can amplify immune reactivity and make symptoms harder to resolve.

The Overlooked Connection: Parasites & Allergies

Parasites interact directly with the immune system—particularly the Th2 (allergy-associated) pathway.

Research shows that parasitic infections can:

  • Stimulate IgE production (the same antibody involved in allergies)

  • Increase histamine release

  • Drive eosinophil activation (common in both parasites and allergic conditions)

In some cases, this leads to:

  • Heightened seasonal allergies

  • Food sensitivities

  • Chronic itching or skin flares

Why Some People Are More Susceptible

Not everyone exposed to parasites develops symptoms. Susceptibility often comes down to terrain.

1. Low Stomach Acid

Stomach acid is one of your first lines of defense against pathogens.
Low levels—common with aging, hypothyroidism, neuroinflammation, and chronic stress—allow organisms to survive digestion.

2. Immune Dysregulation

Seen in:

  • Mold exposure

  • Chronic infections

  • Long-term stress

A dysregulated immune system may struggle to clear organisms effectively.

3. Gut Imbalance

A disrupted microbiome reduces natural competition against parasites and weakens gut immunity.

4. Nervous System Imbalance

Poor vagal tone and sluggish digestion can impair:

  • Motility

  • Enzyme release

  • Bile flow

All of which help protect against microbial overgrowth.

5. Increased Exposure

  • Travel

  • Working with animals or food

  • Gardening or soil contact

Even low-level exposure can accumulate over time.

Common Signs of a Parasitic Burden

Symptoms are often non-specific and can overlap with many conditions:

  • Seasonal allergies or histamine intolerance

  • Itching (skin or rectal)

  • Bloating, gas, or irregular bowel movements

  • Fatigue or nutrient deficiencies (especially iron or B12)

  • Brain fog or irritability

  • Skin issues (eczema, rashes, acne)

Importantly, some individuals have minimal digestive symptoms, making parasites easy to overlook.

Who Should Consider Parasite Support?

You might consider a targeted parasite protocol if you:

  • Struggle with persistent seasonal allergies that don’t fully resolve

  • Have a history of mold exposure or chronic illness

  • Experience low stomach acid (bloating, heaviness after meals, reflux)

  • Have ongoing gut issues (IBS-type symptoms, dysbiosis)

  • Notice itching, skin flares, or unexplained histamine reactions

  • Work closely with animals, soil, or food preparation

  • Have a history of travel-related digestive issues

  • Feel like you’ve “tried everything” but symptoms persist

A Balanced Perspective

Parasites are rarely the only issue—but they can be a missing piece.

The goal isn’t just to “kill parasites,” but to:

  • Restore digestive strength

  • Support immune balance

  • Improve the body’s natural defenses

When the terrain is strong, the body is far more resilient.

Supporting the Body During Parasite Protocols

When addressing parasites, it’s important to also support the body’s natural detoxification pathways—especially the liver and bile flow.

As parasites are cleared, they release metabolic byproducts that the body must process and eliminate. At the same time, individuals prone to allergies often already have increased histamine and inflammatory load.

The liver plays a key role in:

  • Processing toxins and waste

  • Supporting histamine breakdown

  • Promoting healthy bile flow for elimination

For this reason, many protocols include gentle liver and drainage support alongside targeted antimicrobial strategies to improve tolerance and overall outcomes.

Final Thoughts

If your allergies feel more intense than they should—or aren’t responding to typical approaches—it may be worth looking deeper.

Sometimes, what shows up as a seasonal issue is actually a year-round imbalance beneath the surface.

Testing and Treatment Options

Analysis and Decision Making

Because there are so many types of parasites, it’s difficult to cover everything. The GI Map , a test we offer, covers some of the most common ones. I see clients positive for parasites perhaps 20% of the time.

Less conventional testing methods are Applied Kinesiology and Bioenergetic Testing. Applied Kinesiology tests the body’s strength or weakness when a sample of a pathogen is presented, usually using the client’s arm. Bioenergetic testing, which we now offer, is a similar concept but utilizes a machine. The scan is looking at current priorities and weaknesses, so it’s different than asking the body one-by-one, as in Applied Kinesiology.

You can also look in your stool. Have a wooden stick, Q-tip, plastic fork, etc in the bathroom. Oily toilet water, mystery ‘seeds,’ flat ‘noodles,’ tough ‘strings' are all possible parasites. Also be looking daily once you start a cleanse!

Another option is to periodically parasite cleanse. We are all exposed, and a regular sweep may be smart, especially if you experience the symptoms mentioned above.

Supplement Options

I’m going to keep this list short, because I have some true winners that have greatly assisted me with my own allergies:

  • EndoPara Clear Kit - Start at a lower dose, and increase only as tolerated. I slow-dosed it and still got great results.

  • Allergy Rescue - This is a dynamite formula to reduce itching, stimulate vagal tone and calm the system.

  • BioPro ENT - This chewable probiotic is a super effective for changing the microbiome in the nose and reducing congestion.

  • Liver Drainage - Could your liver use some love? A well-working liver handles histamines and allergens better.

You can buy these directly from my shop with the links above. My whole shop is 10% off through April 2026!
